I am going to be completely honest with you guys, I was in no way excited about turning 24 years old. Excited about my birthday in general, yes but about turning 24? eh, not so much.
With getting older comes the thoughts and feelings of needing to have everything in my life together and figured out. 24 is close to 25, which is basically 30, which basically means I'm old. Lol. Anyway, I decided to take a quick weekend trip home for my birthday since it fell on a Sunday and I've never really spent a birthday away from my family. It ended up being a trip well worth it!
In an effort to remind me just how youthful I really am, my parents along with my closest girl friends gave me a surprise "I Love the 90s" themed Skate Party! I hadn't skated in years (reasons why my legs are so sore right now) but we had a blast! We had to dress in 90s attire and all of the party decorations were 90s themed. Check out all the photos
Sunday, the 10th was my actual birthday and I decided to have a BirthSLAY Brunch! We had brunch at a rooftop restaurant in Charlotte that has an amazing view of the city. It was only right we all looked great while eating great!
Like I've told you all before, I live for a good brunch. Breakfast food in general is my favorite, just add in a couple of mimosas and I'm good to go!
Initially, the party was supposed to be a surprise, but in order for me to look the part I was told the night before when I got home from the airport by this cute poster my mom made featuring all things 90s!
My look was a colorful, silk button down top (I looked like I belonged in an episode of Fresh Prince) I found in my dad's closet (don't ask why this was in his closet lol) high- waisted denim shorts with tights.. I added the thigh high boots for a little glam, because I wouldn't be me if I didn't.
